Speaker Options

Some of the speakers (and optional subwoofers) we’ve tested with the TigerFox® Immerse 360®

Examples of  well known speakers tested with the Immerse 360®

The following speakers were tested by different audiophiles with the TigerFox® Immerse 360® and their general observations are briefly included here. (Some are seen in the video).

This is the speaker used at the Axpona high end audio trade show and it works amazingly well especially for immersive music.Current MSRP is around $298 / pair. (See bottom of this page for a suggested stand for this speaker.)

KEF LS-60

I was initially astounded at how they sound, but they must be evaluated further. However, they are quite large, heavy and out of the cost profile for most users with a current MSRP of around $7,000 / pair.

M-Audio BX-5

These were my first studio Monitors. They are old and they are not up to the task. Current MSRP is around $298 / pair.

This low cost “complete” system is just $129 with two speakers and a sub. It’s excellent for fully immersive video games, movies, television broadcasts and relaxing sound baths (especially with environmental soundscapes). This system also sounds surprisingly good with some types of music (with the sub turned way down). Current MSRP is $129 / pair including the sub.

Dali Minuet SE

I set these up with an Arcam SA-30 and they did not do it for me.  Sad as they sound great on their own. Current MSRP is around $480 / pair.

Sonos MOVE (powered) original version (MOVE 2 not tested), stereo pair

MOVE stereo pair work exceptionally well in the pod, are small, and completely wireless, but are difficult to initially electronically setup as a stereo pair.  Once set up, however, I really like the match. Current MSRP is around $598 / pair.

KEF LS50

The competing demands of this speaker’s single location multiple driver design produces a widely spread higher frequency dispersion which seems to dilute its overall sound positioning performance with the pod. Not a great match. Current MSRP is around $1,600 / pair.

The best sound in the Immerse 360 I have heard.  MSRP is around $10,000 / pair.

Kali Audio IN-5 (Powered)

Something about the concentric tweeter messes with the physics of its sound dispersion. They do not sound right at all. Current MSRP is around $698 / pair.

Dali Callisto 2C Wireless

These have a dual “hybrid” tweeter system which also messes with the physics of its sound dispersion. MSRP is around $2,500 / pair.

For $270 a pair, these win the low-cost award. They sound great, and this is a winning combo with the small sub (another $299). The sub, however, unless set correctly, can interfere with center sound localization. Current MSRP is around $270 / pair.

Vanatoo Transparent One Encore

These have a nice balance of spatialization and great bass. Worth checking out for listening to music, playing video games as well as for watching movies. MSRP around $649 / pair with Bluetooth connectivity.

Recommended stands for the JBL 305B MkII powered speakers:

Monoprice 23 inch Glass Stand with Cable Management, Product # 39497, MSRP $69 / pair

Setup Tip: Order these stands at the 23 inch height only (for the JBL speakers). For best performance with the Immerse 360, do not add the “nubs” to the bottom of the stand.
